Adult Intermediate Piano
If you have a strong foundation and love for piano, and have taken two to several years of private piano lessons, this class is for you!
Weekly, private classes begin with technical exercises, learning major, minor, harmonic, natural, melodic, chromatic scales in all keys, arpeggios, chord progressions, cadences, learning intervals, phrasing, as well as sight-singing, sight-reading, ear training, theory, and a repertoire of many beloved songs, with an emphasis of becoming a sophisticated musician, playing songs by heart with beautiful, creative, energetic musicality, as well as improvising, listening to music, and creating their own songs. Classes end with performing a song or exercise of the student's choice. Parent/guardians are always welcome and encouraged to attend class.
Your teacher will recommend books and materials tailored to your child and some books we love are the The complete book of scales, chords, arpeggios, and cadences, Suzuki Piano Method Books & CDs, An Introduction to Classics and Moderns, Music for Millions Series, The Library of Piano Classics, The book of Cannons, 333 Reading Exercises, Kodaly Choral Method: 100 Hungarian Folk Songs and more!
Recommended materials: Tote Bag, Voice Recorder, notebook, a pencil with eraser, it is recommended that you have a piano in your home, your teacher will recommend books and recordings for your family.
